Dominic Castellano (LHP, University of Central Florida): Castellano finished March in great form, spinning five innings of six-strikeout relief with just two hits and one run allowed against Texas Tech. Over his last three outings — two in Big 12 play — Castellano has conceded only two runs on two hits across 11 innings, posting 12 strikeouts and a strike percentage of 65.8%.
Hayden Coon and Candon Dahle (RHP, Brigham Young University): The Cougar teammates combined to pitch 4 ⅓ scoreless innings in Monday’s 15-11 game against Utah Valley, with Dahle punching out four across three frames. Coon then made his first start of the season on Friday against Kansas, yielding no earned runs across four innings. Overall, Dahle has a 4.42 ERA in 18 ⅓ innings while Coon has not allowed an earned run in 15 ⅔ innings this season.
Carter Hanson (OF, University of Massachusetts): Hanson finished a triple shy of the cycle on Thursday at VCU, going 4-for-6 with a double, his fourth home run of the season, and two runs driven in. The four-hit game was the first of Hanson’s career and brought his season RBI total to 20.
Dallin Harrison (RHP, University of San Diego): Harrison appeared during a midweek win over Cal State Fullerton, recording one out via the strikeout to help protect a 4-3 Torero lead.
Brandon Jaenke (RHP, Viterbo University): Jaenke punched out eight Dakota State hitters across 5 ⅔ innings, bringing his team-leading season strikeout total to 62 in 43 ⅓ frames.
Piercen McElyea (RHP, Tarleton State University): McElyea earned his second win of the season on Thursday at Stephen F. Austin, throwing five innings with four strikeouts and one run allowed. The right-hander has allowed just two runs over his last two starts (10 ⅓ innings) a d now has a 4.32 ERA for the season.
Logan Reddemann (INF/RHP, University of San Diego): Reddemann delivered the best outing of his freshman season on Thursday at Pacific, twirling seven shutout innings with 10 strikeouts. Both of those totals marked career highs for Reddemann, who allowed just four baserunners and lowered his season ERA to 4.88.
Sawyer Smith (INF/RHP, St. Cloud State University): Up to his two-way tricks once again, Smith threw a combined five innings with three strikeouts and one run allowed in a Saturday doubleheader against Sioux Falls. During the same twin bill, he went 4-for-6 with three doubles and four runs batted in, bringing his season total to 25 RBI. Overall, Smith has a 2.20 ERA in 16 ⅓ innings with a .357 batting average and 1.042 OPS at the plate.
