SHIFTING SOUTH
Due to yesterday’s unplayable field conditions at Joe Faber Field, today’s games will both be seven innings with game one beginning at 5:05 PM and game two commencing 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one IN MANKATO at ISG Field.. The Rox will be the road team for the first game of the double-header and will switch to being the home team for the second game of the double-header.
PROBABLE STARTERS (SUBJECT TO CHANGE)
STC- Piercen McElyea is slated to make the start for the Rox tonight. McElyea has made nine starts this season and has captured a team leading 49 strikeouts. In those games he has accumulated 38.1 innings and a 2-3 record with a 1.41 WHIP. In his two starts against Mankato this year, McElyea has allowed four earned runs in eight innings pitched while striking out 11 batters and only walking four. Phil Brennaman will make the start for St. Cloud in game two. Brennaman was a NWL all-star this campagin and has racked up some gaudy numbers in his 33.1 IP. Brennaman has struck out 34 batters in those innings and has only walked 12 batsmen. Brennaman has an ERA of 4.32 and a WHIP of 1.41.
MAN- Sam Schlecht will make the start tonight for Mankato. This will be his third start and appearance of the season and has picked up one win and one loss. The Maple Grove native has struck out seven, walked five and allowed ten hits over his seven innings pitched with an ERA of 7.71 and a WHIP of 2.14. Mankato has not announced a starter for game two.
