ST. CLOUD, MN – The St. Cloud Rox (34-15) fell to the Mankato MoonDogs (24-28) 11-3 on Saturday, but are in first place in the Great Plains West ahead of a two-game series against the Willmar Stingers.

St. Cloud was able to score in the opening inning from a Carter Jorissen (Cal State Bakersfield) sacrifice fly.

The Rox added on another run in the bottom of the third from another sac fly, this time by Cayden Gaskin (University of Central Florida), who brought Tyson LeBlanc (University of Kansas) home.

Tanner Recchio (University of St. Thomas) scored Nolan Geislinger (Iowa Western CC) in the bottom of the sixth for St. Cloud’s third run of the day.

On the mound, pitcher McGwire Taylor (Tennessee Wesleyan University) delivered the final five innings of the contest for St. Cloud, tallying seven strikeouts.

The Rox were able to get a baserunner in the ninth, but the rally fell short as Mankato won 11-3.
