ST. CLOUD, MN – The St. Cloud Rox (35-22) took game one of a two-game series against the Bismarck Larks (23-36) with a 10-4 final score, Saturday, July 29th. The Rox hold one of the top records across the Northwoods League this season.

The starting pitcher for St. Cloud was Garrett McLaughlin. McLaughlin pitched a career-high 4.2 innings in his 2nd start for St. Cloud, giving up two earned runs and striking out two batters. McLaughlin has pitched 28.0 innings over 14 appearances this season, both are top-five marks for St. Cloud in 2023.

Sawyer Smith had two hits, two RBI, and two runs scored in the victory. Smith has five hits and five RBI over his last three games, with a .246 batting average and 17 RBI over 21 total games this season. Anthony Mata had three hits and two runs scored. Mata has 10 hits and eight runs scored over his last seven games. Jackson Hauge had three hits, including a double, with an RBI and a run scored. Hauge leads the Rox with 15 doubles and 47 RBI this season. Hauge has reached base in 26 consecutive games.

Brady Posch earned the victory after throwing 2.1 scoreless innings, striking out three batters. Posch has given up just three hits over 9.2 innings pitched this season, striking out 11 batters. Alex Ramos had a stellar outing, throwing 2.0 innings and striking out five batters in his 15th appearance of the season. Ramos has 25 strikeouts over 22.1 innings pitched this season.
