WILLMAR, MN – The St. Cloud Rox (34-17) fell to the Willmar Stingers (29-23) 11-0 on Monday, but get set for eight home games in nine days beginning on Tuesday.
Defensively, St. Cloud was able to turn a double play in the first inning, and starting pitcher Hunter Day (Minnesota State University) provided five innings of work on the mound.
The Rox provided a constant threat of baserunners, including getting a man on base in the ninth, but the rally fell short.
The first-half Great Plains West champion Rox will next host the Rochester Honkers (14-41) for a two-game series beginning on Tuesday.
The All-Star Trophy and Awards Star of the Game was Alex Dupuy (University of Alabama-Birmingham), who tallied two hits in the contest.
St. Cloud returns to Joe Faber Field on Tuesday, July 22nd, to face the Rochester Honkers at 6:35 p.m. There will be a baseball cap giveaway for the first 250 fans at the ballpark, presented by Franklin Outdoor Advertising.
