BISMARCK, ND – The Larks have teamed up with MDU Resources and Gateway to Science to bring STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) to the baseball field. Together, we understand the importance of equipping youth with the knowledge and skills to solve tough problems, gather and evaluate evidence and comprehend information.

This summer we are on a mission. We searched for 12 All-Star students who exhibit hard work, dedication, and a commitment to using STEM to serve their school and community. Each student was nominated by their teacher for their love of learning. The winners were carefully selected by MDU Resources and Gateway to Science.

The Larks will recognize each STEM All-Star during select home games throughout the 2018 season.

Each STEM All-Star will receive the following:

  • Sign a one-day contract with the Larks
  • Larks jersey
  • 4 Larks tickets to a select game
  • Story in the Larks Playball Program about their STEM achievements
  • Private meet and greet with the Larks players and coaches
  • Opportunity to catch balls with the Larks during batting practice
  • On-field recognition and the chance to throw out the first pitch
  • A Gateway to Science One-Year Student Membership

At the Larks game on June 13th, MDU Resources will host “STEM Education Night.” Students interested in pursuing a career in science, engineering, technology or math will have the opportunity to learn more from Bismarck/Mandan area businesses ahead of the game at the STEM Expo. We hope you’ll join us!

Please help us congratulate these 12 STEM standouts:
