BISMARCK, ND – The Bismarck Larks will welcome Brett Lindsey as a new hitting coach for the 2018 Season.
“I love that no matter what team is playing, no matter what two teams are on the field, any team can win on any given day,” Lindsey said when questioned on his passion for baseball.
Lindsey is a Minnesota native. Throughout high school he was recruited by colleges nationwide. It was during this time, Lindsey was seriously injured in a life altering car accident at the end of his junior year. Lindsey suffered a brain bleed, shattered femur, fractures in his pelvis and left him in a coma. He was told by doctors he may not ever walk again, let alone play baseball. Despite the news, it was Lindsey’s love of the game that fueled his recovery. After extensive physical therapy, Lindsey returned and played his senior year of high school baseball.
“I am thrilled to have Lindsey on staff with us this summer,” said Bismarck Larks Head Coach, Sean Repay. “Not only is he a very knowledgeable baseball guy, but his story is one that is very inspiring. He will be such a positive and motivational voice for this roster this summer. I couldn’t be happier to have Lindsey as the hitting coach for the Larks.”
Lindsey is currently a Graduate Assistant Coach for the Alabama A&M University baseball team. His responsibilities include working with hitters, infield coach, first base coach and maintenance of the field. He is completing his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
“I really do baseball 24/7,” Lindsey told us when we asked what he likes to do with his downtime. “People want to know if I camp or fish. Really, I just like baseball.”
“So, baseball is your true love?” We asked Lindsey. “Outside of family,” he said. “Yes.”
