MANKATO, MN– The Bismarck Larks fell 5-0 against the Mankato Moondoogs in a very quick game to drop the Larks to 25-13 on the season and 0-2 in the second half of the Northwoods League play.

Zack Jones got his first start of the season on the mound for the Larks and it got off to a rocky start giving up four runs in the first inning and he would take home the loss on the mound.

The bats didn’t come to the plate in tonight’s game as they were only able to string together five hits and they struck out ten times. Michael Farnell got on base three times with three singles but he was unable to come around to score as he was stranded at second once and first base twice.

Bennett Wiggins came on in relief for the Larks and he pitched six innings on the mound and gave up one earned run and pitched five scoreless innings to keep the Larks in the game. Clayton Hill finished the game on the mound for the Larks allowing one hit while striking out two batters.

The only runs of the game came in the first two innings and the Moondogs only had six hits on the evening.

The Larks lost 5-0 and are now 25-13 on the season and 0-2 in the second half. The Larks will be back in action tomorrow night when they head back home for a four game home stand.
