Bismarck, North Dakota- The Bismarck Larks (14-16, 30-34) snapped a 3-game losing streak with a comeback victory over the rival Minot Hot Tots (12-17, 25-40), evening the Dakota Dust-Up at 4 games apiece.

Minot pounced on Larks starter River Walters in the top of the 1st. Austyn Peak singled and scored on a 2-run homer from Drew Reaves to right field. Walters induced two groundouts but loaded the bases on a single and 2 walks. With Adrian Dominguez batting, Walters threw a wild pitch and dropped the throw to home from catcher Karter Scott, allowing Alex Altmann and Aiden Yochim to score. The Hot Tots jumped out to a 4-0 lead.

Minot starter Ayden Sauerbrei stifled the Larks until the bottom of the 4th. Luke Stulga walked and Jesse Contreras singled with 1 out. Drew Kleinheider grounded into a fielder’s choice, with the throw trying to double off Kleinheider going wide. This allowed Stulga to score Bismarck’s first run of the ballgame.

With 1 out in the bottom of the 5th, Clay Cook and Keegan Landis singled. Carver drove in Landis with a single and stole second base. Stulga followed with a 2-run double, tying the score at 4.

The Larks continued their onslaught against Alex Moran in the bottom of the 6th, with Kleinheider singling to left and advancing to third on a stolen base and throwing error. Cook walked and stole second with 2 outs. Landis drove them in with an RBI single, putting Bismarck up 6-4.

Avery Shelton each threw 2 scoreless innings for Bismarck, setting up Logan Boertje for the 9th inning. Boertje let the first two men on base but retired the next three, earning his first save of the season.

Omar Reynoso (1-0) earned the victory in his first appearance, allowing 3 hits and 1 walk across 2 scoreless innings while striking out 3. Minot’s Alex Moran (0-2) took the loss, throwing 1.1 innings of 2-run ball while giving up 2 hits, walking 1, and striking out 2. Logan Boertje (1) earned the save with a scoreless 9th, walking 1, allowing 1 hit, and striking out 2.

The Larks head to Minot tomorrow to continue this 4-game series, with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. at Corbett Field.
