BISMARCK, ND– The Bismarck Larks lose their fourth straight game tonight as they got outscored 5-2 against the Thunder Bay Border Cats. With this loss the Larks are now 25-15 on the season and 0-4 in the second half.
The Larks second half struggles continued here tonight as the Thunder Bay Border Cats put up five runs in the first three innings. Bruce Bell got his first start of the season tonight and gave up five runs and took home the loss on the mound for the Larks. Frank Greco and Matt Butler came on in relief and didn’t allow the Border Cats to score another run.
The offensive attack stranded eight runners on base tonight, and was only able to push across two runs in the bottom of the 8th inning. They put together a two out rally in the bottom of the 9th inning but were unable to get any closer than three runs.
Wyatt Ulrich and Michael Farnell scored the only runs of the game for the Larks and only three hitters in the Larks lineup had two or more hits.
The Larks lost 5-2 and are now 25-15 on the season and 0-4 in the second half. The Larks will be back in action tomorrow afternoon when they will take on the Willmar Stingers. First pitch is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. Catch all the action on http://mixlr.com/larksbaseball/.
