BISMARCK, ND– Zack Jones pitched six shutout innings for the Larks which gave them the momentum they needed to take an 8-4 Waterloo Bucks. The Larks improve to 33-25-1 on the season and 8-14-1 in the second half.
The Bismarck Larks scored four runs in the bottom of the 4th inning when Mike Farnell, Kyle Stevens, Matt Warkentin, and Jacob Nesbit came around to score. Carson Bartels hit a double with bases loaded to drive in three runs and take a 4-0 lead.
In the bottom of the 5th inning, Ripken Reyes, Farnell, Stevens, and Warkentin scored to increase the Larks lead to 8-0. They didn’t score anymore runs after that but they didn’t need anymore.
In the top of the 7th inning, the Bucks were able to scratch one across and then in the top of the 9th inning, with two outs they were able to drive in two runs on a double which then made it an 8-4 game. Scott Meylan was able to settle in and get the final out.
The Larks won 8-4 and are now 33-25-1 on the season and 8-14-1 in the second half. The Larks will be back in action tomorrow at 7:05 against the Waterloo Bucks in game two of a four game series. Catch all the action on http://mixlr.com/larksbaseball/.
