Adlyn Neumiller is the May Kid of the Month: “She gives her best in all she does.”
Adlyn and eight other Kids of the Month will be recognized at Thursday night’s ballgame
Dedicated 4-H member, Adlyn Neumiller has been named the MDU Resources Kid of the Month for May! The Bismarck Larks make the announcement ahead of Thursday night’s Kid of the Month recognition at the ballpark.
Adlyn is one of nine students who will be recognized on the field for contributions to their schools, service groups, and communities. One student will be awarded the MDU Resources Group Kid of the Year, and receive a $1,000 scholarship to their 529 College SAVE account.
Adlyn, 12 years old, was nominated by Tina Inzer, a teacher at Washburn Elementary School. Inzer recognized Adlyn for her empathy and kindness. “Whether it’s helping someone in 4-H or comforting a teammate in soccer, she’s there – offering a hand, a smile, or a prayer,” Inzer said.
For the last two years, Adlyn has held an officer position with her 4-H group, where she shows sheep. This year, her animals are named Bonnie and Clyde. She says community involvement runs in her family.
“My great grandma did 4-H, my mom did 4-H, and now I do,” Adlyn explained.
Outside of 4-H, Adlyn plays basketball, soccer and is going out for softball. She also loves playing the piano and French horn.
“She juggled school work, sports, music, and service with maturity beyond her years. She shows up, follows through, and gives her best in all she does,” Inzer said.
As a Kid of the Month, Adlyn will receive tickets to tonight’s game, a customized Larks jersey, and an opportunity to be named Kid of the Year and win the scholarship. MDU Resources is a proud supporter of students across North Dakota, helping to empower students’ dreams and ambitions.
The special recognition is held in conjunction with National 529 Day, which helps raise awareness of the benefits of 529 college saving accounts. Learn more about college save accounts with Bank of North Dakota here.
