BISMARCK, ND – The Bismarck Larks will welcome Arizona State freshman, Colby Davis, for the 2018 Season.

“I have playing ever since I could pick up a ball,” Davis told the Larks. “I remember all my Little League baseball games and meeting some great people.”

Davis, a 6’8’’ 225lbs. right-handed pitcher from Scottsdale, Arizona, is one of the top freshman arms for Head Coach Tracy Smith at Arizona State. While at Chaparral High School, Davis finished with a 7-2 record and a 3.51 ERA in 25 appearances (17 starts). Davis was drafted in the 23rd round of the 2017 MLB Draft by the New York Yankees, but elected to attend Arizona State. He was rated #11 right-handed pitcher and #33 overall player in the state of Arizona. He drew in a Top-500 rating in the nation by Perfect Game. Davis was names a 2017 Rawlings Perfect Game All-American Honorable Mention and West All-Region Second Team.

“Davis is the type of arm I am excited to have be a part of the Larks organization,” said Larks Head Coach Sean Repay. “There is a reason the Yankees took him in the middle rounds of the draft knowing he would attend ASU. I expect Davis to be a mainstay in the rotation for us. He is a high character young man with an incredibly high ceiling of talent.”

Outside of baseball, Davis is eager to experience what North Dakota has to offer. “I am looking forward to a new adventure,” he said on signing with the Larks. “I am excited to travel all around the north and represent the Northwoods League.”

In his free time Davis loves to fish and spend time with friends and family. He can solve a Rubik’s cube in one minute.
