Nesbit and Miller Return to the Larks in 2019.

The Bismarck Larks are excited to begin their 2019 “Surveying the Field” Player Announcements presented by Frontier Precision.

The Bismarck Larks will welcome two of their former players for the 2019 season: Jacob Nesbit (University of Arkansas) and Evan Miller (Xavier University). Both players are excited to come back to Bismarck this summer.

“Everything about my experience was really nice,” Miller said. “When I got the opportunity to come back, it was an immediate yes for me.”

“I really love Bismarck, the community and the coaching staff,” Nesbit said. “Being surrounded by great people is the best experience you could ask for.”

Nesbit played short stop in 2018 for the Larks and averaged .266 with 66 hits, two home runs, 28 RBIs and seven stolen bases over 65 games. The six-foot-tall right-hander is currently a sophomore at the University of Arkansas.

Miller pitched in seven games for the Larks in 2018. He posted a 2.34 ERA, one win, zero loses, and 12 strike outs in seven appearances. The six-foot-tall right-hander is currently a sophomore at Xavier University.

While the Larks enjoyed a successful 2018 season that brought the team to its first playoff appearance, Miller and Nesbit said the draw of coming back to Bismarck wasn’t just about winning.

“It was a lot of fun. I met a lot of great guys. It was a great atmosphere,” Miller said. “Meeting new guys is awesome, you make buddies for life.”

“I’m excited to meet some new guys,” Nesbit said. “Getting to create relationships with other people is a lot of fun. I like getting to see the fans. I’m excited to play baseball again.”

The Larks’ 2019 season starts May 28 with a home game against the Eau Claire Express.

The Larks are hoping to sell out all 36 home games before the season starts. Purchasing a Scheels 7 Game Pack is the only way to secure a seat. The team is already 94% sold out of box seats.
