The Larks snapped a five-game losing streak with an impressive 6-2 win over the Rochester Honkers on Friday, August 6 in a game presented by Mor-Gran-Sou Electric and Basin Electric

Jordan Chappell made his final appearance of the season on the mound for the 2021 season. In the reliever’s first start of the season, Chappell went six strong innings allowing just one earned run. The lefty recorded six strikeouts in the win and used his fastball to set up his secondary pitches.

Chappell consistently hit 91 mph on the gun for the Metro-Area Ambulance Fastest Pitch. He finished his 2021 season with a 3-1 record and a 5.93 ERA.

The defense — which had been a problem for the Larks in 2021 — put together a strong performance on Friday.

Larks second baseman, Enrique Morales, made the Fetzer Electric Play of the Game when he ranged to his right on a ground ball to turn a 4-3 double play. Morales has continued to look good defensively in his first seven games of the season.

The Larks continue their homestand on Saturday night against the Honkers for game three of the series for a 6:35 PM first pitch. Prior to the game, the Larks will host the final North Dakota Beef Commission Beefy Boys Home Run Derby of the season. Gates open at 5:35 PM. Tickets are available at larkstickets.com
