The Bismarck Larks lost 8-2 tonight against the St. Cloud Rox. Errors came back to haunt the Larks in the long run as they committed five throughout the game while the Rox had three themselves. The Larks had a good night at the plate with nine hits but somehow couldn’t manufacture runs. The Larks will hope to rebound in two-game home series against the Duluth Huskies.

What’s Next: The Bismarck Larks will face off against the Duluth Huskies on Saturday, June 22. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 pm at Bismarck Municipal Ballpark, the home of Dakota Community Bank and Trust Field.

How it Happened: The Rox got on the board first after Jordan Barth singled up the middle and back to back walks loaded the bases for St.Cloud. A groundout to Larks shortstop Cooper Bowman off the bat of Cam Kline drove in Barth for the first run of the game in the 4th inning.

The Larks evened up the score at one in the bottom half of the inning. Brian Leonhardt doubled into the right center field gap to lead off the fourth. He then advanced on a groundout and eventually scored on an error by the Rox shortstop that allowed Clay Woeste to reach.

In the sixth inning, the Rox scored two more after a single, a pair of errors by the Larks infield, a wild pitch and a sacrifice fly. Barth and Smith stayed hot in this two-game series as they were the two runs that crossed the plate in the inning.

The Larks also added one more in the bottom of the inning. Jacob Rogers singled down the right field which was followed by a Clay Woeste walk. Alex Peterson then drove in Rogers for the Larks second and final run of the night.

The Rox doubled their run total in the 7th and 8th innings. The first two runs were scored in the 7th after another Rox single, an error, a wild pitch and a fielder’s choice. Ben Carew scored for the Rox and Jordan Barth crossed the plate for the second time in the night to make it 6-2.

The final two Rox runs came in the 8th. Carew scored for a second time and Gus Steiger scored as well. The Rox bats had 8 runs on 8 hits in the game. The final score was 8-2.

Inside The Boxscore: Three Larks had multiple hits in the game. The 1-2 punch at the top of the order in Zack Gregory and Wyatt Ulrich were two of the three that had two hits in the game. Jacob Rogers had another two-hit game for his second in a row.
