Larks Add Depth Prior to Opening Day
BISMARCK, ND – The inaugural roster for the Bismarck Larks will feature yet another North Dakota native as the team has signed LHP Parker Harm out of North Dakota State University. The Larks have also announced the signing of outfielder Brandon Wulff from Stanford University and infielder Luke Waldek out of Minnesota State University, Mankato.
In Harm’s freshman season in 2017, the Mandan native posted an impressive 1.98 ERA in 12 appearances across 36.1 innings pitched. In the 143 batters that the lefty faced throughout his freshman season only 17 of them got hits bringing him to an astounding .140 OBA. Harm’s best appearance for the Bison came against the University of Nebraska Omaha on April 21, 2017 when he threw a career high five innings of shutout baseball in a long relief appearance for the Bison.
Wulff, a Division 1 talent out of Las Vegas, NV, has belted five homers throughout his sophomore season at Stanford University. Wulff has started 37 games in the 2017 season for the Cardinal posting a .341 OBP while scoring 21 runs. As a true freshman at Stanford in 2016, Wulff played in 28 games while starting in 11 of those games. In his first season as a collegiate player, Wullf ended up hitting .270 with 10 RBI and one home run.
As for Waldek, he was a mainstay in the Mavericks lineup in 2017. The Trumbull, CT native started all 56 games locking down the shortstop position. In 2016 as a sophomore, Waldek started all 54 games yet again hitting .344 with 67 total hits. The first year of collegiate baseball for Waldek, back in 2015, showcased a .307 AVG, three homers, 32 RBI and an impressive 15 game hit streak. The 2015 campaign for Waldek earned him a summer spot in the New York Collegiate League as a member of the Geneva Twins.
