BISMARCK, ND– The Bismarck Larks bats showed up against the Mankato MoonDogs scoring 12 runs, coming away with a 12-4 victory. This was the first game at home since July 19, 2018 after six games on the road. The Larks are now 29-20 on the season and 4-9 in the second half.

Jacob Nesbit was the player of the night after a dominating performance at the plate recording two singles, one double, and one home run. He drove in six runs and scored two, accounting for eight of the Larks 12. Newcomer Cj Ballard scored five runs, recording three hits and one stolen base in his first start at Bismarck Municipal Stadium.

Joey Filosa started on the mound tonight for the Larks and he pitched seven innings, allowed four earned runs and struck out eight MoonDogs. He gave up two runs in the first inning to start the game in two more in the top of the 4th inning. After that he settled in and didn’t allow another MoonDog to reach base. He earned the win on the mound and Matthew Ponsiglione and Clayton Hill also continued the streak of 1-2-3 innings and finished it off with five straight.

The Larks scored one run in the first inning, three in the third, three in the fourth, two in the fifth, two in the seventh and one in the eighth. Ripken Reyes recorded three hits, drove in two runs and was a home run away from hitting for the cycle. Matt Warkentin added some flare in the bottom of the eighth inning when he hit a leadoff home run to give the Larks their 12th run.

Bismarck recorded 18 total hits and five extra base hits to help propel them to victory.

The Larks won 12-4 and are now 29-20 on the season and 4-9 in the second half. The Larks will be back in action tomorrow night when they take on the Mankato MoonDogs. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Catch all the action on http://mixlr.com/larksbaseball/.
