WILLMAR, MN– A clutch two out single in the top of the 9th inning gave the Bismarck Larks a 3-2 victory over the Willmar Stingers. The Larks are now 31-25 on the season and 6-14 in the second half.

Jacob Nesbit started a two out rally in the top of the 9th inning with a single up the middle and the Cj Ballard singled into right field which advanced Nesbit to third base with two outs. On a 1-0 count, Braden Williams hit a single into left field to take a 3-2 lead late in the game.

Hendry Rodriguez started on the mound for the Larks and gave up two runs in 5.2 innings. A solo home run in the bottom of the 3rd inning got the Stingers on the board and in the bottom of the 5th inning, a double deep in the gap scored the Stingers second run.

In the top of the 5th inning, Cristian Montes stepped up big for the Larks hitting a two-run home run that scored him and Williams who hit a one out single into centerfield.

Two Larks made their season debuts against the Stingers, Scott Meylan and Dominic Arias both pitched in relief and struck out a four combined batters while only allowing one hit over 3.1 innings.  Arias was credited with the win on the mound and in the bottom of the 9th inning, Chris Roycroft came on to get the three out save. He struck out one batter in his shutdown inning to secure the victory for the Larks.

The Larks won 3-2 and are now 31-25 on the season and 6-14 in the second half. The Larks start a six game home stand tonight against the Eau Claire Express with a scheduled start time of 6:05. Catch all the action on http://mixlr.com/larksbaseball/.
