Bismarck, North Dakota- The Willmar Stingers (16-7, 32-27) prevailed over the Bismarck Larks (11-13, 27-31) at Municipal Ballpark on Monday night on a Landon Lowe go-ahead single in the top of the 10th inning.

Willmar struck first in the top of the 2nd on a Merrick Rapoza home run off Larks starter Tate Alexander, putting the Stingers up 1-0.

The Stingers added on in the top of the 3rd, starting with a leadoff Kyle Proctor double followed by a Luke DeVine single. Kai Gonzaga doubled to center, plating Proctor from third and moving DeVine to third. David Estrada followed with an RBI groundout, sending DeVine home and putting the Stingers up by 3.

The Larks offense tied things up in the bottom of the 4th. Blade Carver swatted a 1-out single, and Drew Kleinheider walked with 2 outs. Jackson Crider came through with an RBI single to right, sending Carver home. Left fielder Ezra Farmer followed with a ground-rule double to right, scoring Kleinheider. Catcher Logan Murphy kept the train moving with an RBI infield single, tying the score at 3.

The Stingers quickly jumped back out in front in the top of the 5th. DeVine walked and stole second, moving to third on a Gonzaga groundout. Estrada brought him home with a groundout to short, putting Willmar up 4-3.

Zeroes filled the scoreboard until the bottom of the 9th. Farmer walked and moved to second on a balk from Willmar pitcher Landon Sloan. Murphy singled to short, moving Farmer to third. With Noah Caceres batting, Sloan fired a wild pitch, scoring Farmer from third. Blade Carver struck out against Dylan Kulper to end the threat, with the score tied up going into the 10th inning.

Bismarck’s Jack Scrofano returned to the mound for his third inning of work, inheriting Estrada as the runner at second. Rapoza flew out, but Estrada advanced to third on a throwing error. Landon Lowe then singled to right and advanced to second, driving in the go-ahead run. The Max Buettenback batting, Murphy caught Lowe stealing third, ending the threat.

Kulper tossed a perfect 10th inning, preventing the Larks from scoring Carver and closing the game for Willmar.

Dylan Kulper (1-0) earned his first victory of the season in his second appearance, tossing 1.1 clean innings of relief. Jack Scrofano (0-1) picked up his first loss despite a strong outing, working through 3 innings while surrendering 1 run (unearned) on 3 hits and striking out 3.

The Larks travel to Dickinson on Saturday to begin a 2-game series against the Big Sticks, while the Stingers drive home to face the Hot Tots. Both games begin at 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday
