BISMARCK, ND– The Bismarck Larks drop their fourth game in a row here tonight against the La Crosse Loggers by a score of 12-5. The Larks are now 36-32-1 overall and 11-21-1 in the second half.
The Loggers came out hot, with playoff implications on the line, the Loggers needed to come out with a victory and they started by scoring three runs in the top of the 1st innings. They added five runs in the top of the 2nd inning with a three-run home run off of Scott Meylan gave the Loggers a 6-0 lead. They scored two more runs that inning.
After a 1-2-3 inning by Meylan on the mound, The Larks scored four runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning with a huge three-run home run off the bat of Matt Warkentin made it an 8-4 game.
The Loggers scored two in top of the 4th inning, and two more in 5th inning. They didn’t score in innings six through nine because Peter Joseph came on in relief and pitched lights out. He gave up three hits and five walks, but no runs.
Jacob Nesbit hit a solo home run in the top of the 5th inning which made it a 12-5 game which later became the final score.
Hendry Rodriguez took him the loss on the mound for the Larks with just three games remaining in the regular season; Rodriguez will most likely start the first game of the playoffs for the Larks.
The Larks lost 12-5 and are now 36-32-1 on the season and 11-21-1 in the second half. The Larks will be back in action tomorrow against the Loggers starting at 7:35. Catch all the action on http://mixlr.com/larksbaseball/.
