BISMARCK, ND– The bats came alive in tonight’s game against the Duluth Huskies, coming away with a huge 7-1 victory that snapped a five game losing streak dating back to August 5th. The Larks are now 37-33-1 on the season and 12-22-1 in the second half.

In game number 71 of 72 in the Northwoods League regular season, Danny Kuhn started on the mound for the Larks and pitched a stellar five innings on the mound and didn’t allow a single run while allowing two hits and striking out three batters.

The Larks scored one run in the bottom of the 1st inning when Braden Williams singled into right field scoring Mike Farnell. In the bottom of the 2nd inning, Wyatt Ulrich started his impressive day, with a double down the left field life which scored Jeff Mayes from first base. Ulrich came around to score on a wild pitch.

In the bottom of the 3rd inning, Ulrich drove in Conner Bock on a single into center field that gave the Larks a 4-0 lead.

The Larks scored two more runs in the bottom of the 6th inning when Matt Warkentin and Ulrich came to give the Larks a 6-0 lead.

Zack Jones came on in relief after Kuhn threw five strong innings and Jones gave up one run over the course of his four innings of work. He allowed his only run in the top of the 7th inning but it was an unearned run.

Bismarck scored one more run in the bottom of the 8th inning, when Kyle Stevens scored his first and only run of the game.

The Larks won 7-1 and are now 37-33-1 on the season and 12-22-1 in the second half. The Larks will be back in action tomorrow against the Duluth Huskies starting at 1:05. Catch all the action on http://mixlr.com/larksbaseball/.
