BISMARCK, ND– The Bismarck Larks showed up early in 6-1 victory over the Rochester Honkers as they were able to score all six runs in the first two innings. Hendry Rodriguez started on the mound for the Larks and dominated, only allowing three hits and one earned run. The Larks improve to 14-9 on the season and remain in a tie for second place in the Northwoods League.

The Larks started the bottom of the first inning with four consecutive hits. Cristian Montes, Ripken Reyes, and Kyle Stevens hit singles to load the bases and then Tristen Carranza came up and hit a double down the left field line to drive in two runs. Stevens would score when Chase Coker reached base on an error made by the second basemen. Carranza scored while a double play was turned on the infield to make it a 4-0 game.

Matt Warkentin started the bottom of the second with a single up the middle and scored on a wild pitch. Reyes got on base for his second of four times in the bottom of the second and later came around to score when Carranza drove him in for his third RBI of the game to make it 6-1.

Rodriguez was lights out on the mound, only allowing one run in the top of the second inning. After that he locked in and only allowed one hit over the next five innings. Evan Miller and Jeff Lindgren closed the door on the mound only allowing two more hits and striking out three batters.

The Larks won by a score of 6-1 and are now 14-9 on the season. The Larks will be back in action tomorrow night against the Rochester Honkers with first pitch scheduled for 7:35 p.m. Catch all the action on http://mixlr.com/larksbaseball/.
