The Larks dropped Wednesday’s game to earn a series split against the Mankato MoonDogs, 11-0.

The MoonDogs shut out the Larks after strong performances from Drew Buhr (Bellarmine), Taisei Yahiro (Grand Canyon), and Michael Gurka (University of Minnesota). Buhr got the start and the win, after dealing six innings of perfect baseball. He allowed no earned runs, only two hits and struck out eight batters.

At the plate, Mankato saw five hitters finish with RBIs, including five from Sean Ross (Indiana State). Ross finished two-for-four with a double and a two-run home run. Kai Roberts (University of Utah) also sent a ball over the fence and finished with two RBIs.

AJ Barraza (CSU-San Bernardino) continued his efficient summer at the plate after forcing two more walks and pushing his season total to 35. Aaron Mann (Drury University) and Bradlee Preap (Radford University) finished with base hits. Mann also finished with the Fetzer Electric Play of the Game after scooping a hard hit ball at third base and delivering the out to end the inning.

On the mound, Adolfo Iturralde (University of New Mexico) delivered the Metro Area Ambulance Fastest Pitch of the Game at 89 mph in his first game with the Larks.

The Larks hit the road for a four-game series with the La Crosse Loggers.
