BISMARCK, ND– The Bismarck Larks came out on top with an 8-6 victory over the Eau Claire Express in a thrilling game that had 24 combined hits. The Larks are 32-25 on the season and 7-14 in the second half. This is the Larks second victory in a row.

Danny Kuhn started on the mound and gave up three runs in the first inning but he was able to settle in after that only giving up two more runs in the top of the 5th inning. He earned his fourth win on the mound this season.

The Larks never gave up in this game, scoring one run in the second innings, one in the third on a solo home run off the bat of Tristen Carranza and then the Larks started to explode at the plate.

In the bottom of the 4th inning, the Larks scored three runs when Brandon Barna led the inning off with a double down the left field line and then Carson Bartels walked. Cristan Montes then hit a triple to score Barna and Bartels. Ripken Reyes hit a sacrifice fly to score Montes from third base to give the Larks a 5-3 lead.

In the bottom of the 5th inning, Jacob Nesbit, Braden Williams and Barna all came around to score after a triple from Barna and then Montes hit a sacrifice fly to score Barna. The Larks then led 8-5 over the Express.

The Express would score one more run in the top of the 7th inning off of Bruce Bell. Corey Treyes came on in the 8th inning and recorded the six out save.

The Larks won 8-6 and are now 32-25 on the season and 7-14 in the second half. The Larks will be back in action tomorrow at 1:05 against the Eau Claire Express in the series finale. Catch all the action on http://mixlr.com/larksbaseball/.
