A late rally by the Bismarck Larks fell short as they dropped the second game of the series against the Willmar Stingers, 4-2 in a wild game on Wild West Night.

The Larks stranded the tying run on base as Willmar closer Dylan Matela (Georgia State Southern) struck out Reggie Williams (CSU Pueblo) to end the game.

Bismarck got strong starting pitching from Morgan McCloud (Texas Wesleyan University). Despite not allowing an earned run, McCloud was hit with the loss as the Larks allowed four unearned runs in the sixth inning. Kevin Wiseman (Arkansas State University) earned the Metro Area Ambulance Fastest Pitch of the Game, hitting 92 mph in the top of the ninth inning.

Willmar starter Jack Habeck (St. Cloud State) earned his Northwoods League-leading fifth win of the season, allowing just one run in six innings.

Garrett Macias (CSU-San Bernardino) continued his strong season with an RBI double in the bottom of the first. Khalid Collymore (University of Montevallo) came home when his teammate Luke Glascoe (UC-San Diego) was caught stealing at second for the other run the Larks scored.

Macias also was a big part of the Fetzer Electric Play of the Game when he threw out a Stingers runner at second back in the first inning. He got an assist on a great tag from second baseman Bradlee Preap (Radford University).

The Birds and the Bees (Larks and Stingers) are back in action Sunday for BNC National Bank Family Fun Day Sunday with gates opening at 4:35 PM and first pitch coming up at 5:35 PM, only available on the exclusive streaming partner of the NWL, ESPN+.
