BISMARCK, ND– The Bismarck Larks showed up at the plate in tonight’s 14-7 victory over the Willmar Stingers. Danny Kuhn got his first start of the season on the mound and improved the Larks to 13-9 on the season.

The scoring started in the first inning when Cristian Montes, Ripken Reyes and Kyle Stevens all got on base and later scored to go on top 3-0. The Larks weren’t close to being finished at the plate when the bottom of the third inning started; the bats came alive when three more runs came across to make it a 6-0 score.

In the bottom of the fourth, Reyes, Stevens, Mike Farnell, Tristen Carranza and Matt Warkentin all scored to go on top of the Stingers 11-0, and the game looked out of reach.

Willmar started their comeback in the top of the sixth inning when they were able to plate one run. Danny Kuhn pitched six innings, allowing just one run and struck out four batters in his first start of the season for the Larks.

The Larks came back with one of their own in the bottom of the sixth inning when Jacob Nesbit lead the inning off with a double and later scored on a sacrifice fly hit by Warkentin.

The seventh inning saw two different Larks pitchers as eight batters came to the plate and four of them were able to score to make it a 12-5 game. Willmar would score two more runs in the top of the eighth inning to make it 13-7. Parker Harm came in the game on the mound with two outs in the eighth inning and shut the door and didn’t allow another hit.

Bismarck scored their fourteenth run of the game when Montes drove in Wyatt Ulrich on a single into right field.

Reyes and Stevens led the way for the Larks scoring three runs and Stevens drove in one as well. Farnell scored two runs and drove in one. Montes, Nesbit and Warkentin all drove in three runs and Nesbit scored two runs.

The Larks won by a score of 14-7 and are now 13-9 on the season. The Larks will be back in action tomorrow night against the Rochester Honkers with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Catch all the action on http://mixlr.com/larksbaseball/.
