Bynum now the second Lark to be named NWL All-Star

BISMARCK, ND – Due to injuries, Larks outfielder Scooter Bynum has been added to the North Division team for the 2017 Northwoods League All-Star Game.

Bynum is the second Larks player to be selected to the All-Star Game after starting pitcher Tyler Steele was named to the team last week. The Northern Illinois Huskie will also participate in the Northwoods League Home Run Derby, the first Larks player ever to participate in the event.

Since joining the team, Bynum has served as the team’s regular center fielder. His versatility as a hitter provides Field Manager Sean Repay with options, as Bynum has hit everywhere in the lineup from the lead-off spot to the clean up position, and he even made an appearance in the nine hole.

On the season, Bynum is hitting .308 with 37 hits, five home runs, and 25 RBIs. Each of those numbers is a Larks team-high.

Bynum will participate in the Home Run Derby in Wausau, Wisconsin on Tuesday July 18 at 5:00pm. Larks Hitting Coach Brandon Nelson will throw the pitches for Bynum. The All-Star Game featuring Bynum and Steele will take place after the derby at 7:05pm.
