BISMARCK, ND – The Larks have signed Trenton Stoltz, a junior right handed pitcher from the University of Utah.

Trenton is a communications major from Phoenix, AZ; where he has pitched for the Utah Utes for the past two seasons. In 2016, he made 15 appearances as a relief pitcher; and in 17 1/3 innings he threw 13 strikeouts, and had a 4.15 ERA. He also did not allow an earned run through his first six appearances of the season. He also earned a honorable mention with the Pac-12 All-Academic Team.

Stoltz pitched in relief on February 25 against Ohio State, where he helped lead the Utes to a 6-4 victory with throwing a strikeout and giving up a run in the 7th inning.

He also threw against the Nebraska Cornhuskers on February 26, giving up 0 runs and 0 hits in 1 inning pitched. The Utes lost 4-3 against the Cornhuskers.

At Paradise Valley High School in Phoenix, AZ; he participated in the AZBCA Division II All-Star Game, and he had a 4-1 record with a 1.12 ERA in 8 starts with 50 strikeouts as a senior.

The Utah Utes are currently fourth in the Pac 12 standings with a 5-2-0 record.
