Northwoods League Announces additions to 2013 All Star Game Roster
Rochester, Minn. (July 16, 2013) -- The Northwoods League has announced that Charlie White from the Eau Claire Express will be added to the South roster and Eric Nyquist from the St. Cloud Rox will be added to the North roster for the 2013 Northwoods League All-Star Game, which will be played on Tuesday, July 23rd at 7:35 p.m. (CST) at Carson Park in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Both players have been added as injury replacements.
Double Digit Tuesday
Rochester, Minn (July 16th, 2013)--As the Major Leagues watched their best players compete in Tuesday's All Star Game, Northwoods League offenses feasted on pitching. Six different teams scored in double digits, which made the night very exciting.
Former Duluth Huskie Mark Melancon added to MLB All Star Game Roster
Rochester, MN – Major League Baseball announced on Sunday that Pirates reliever Mark Melancon would be an injury replacement for the 2013 MLB All Star Game to be played on July 16th at Citi Field in New York.
No-Hitter, Walk-Off Homer, 20 Run Game Lead Night
Rochester, Minn (July 15th, 2013)--On the night of the Major League Home Run Derby, the Northwoods League saw its first no-hitter on the season. Jacob Stone (Weatherford CC) of Waterloo tossed the no-no against the Thunder Bay Border Cats. Meanwhile, the Green Bay Bullfrogs scored 20 runs. In Mequon, the Lakeshore Chinooks walked off on a two run home run.
Shutouts in the North
Rochester, Minn (July 14th, 2013)--Three shutouts were recorded in the Northwoods League on Sunday afternoon, and all were done by home teams in the North division.
Home is Where the Wins Are
Rochester, Minn (July 13th, 2013)--Home teams enjoyed plenty of success in the Northwoods League on Saturday night. Of the eight games played, six were won by the home squad.
Friday Plays Host to Longest Game in NWL History
Rochester, Minn (July 12th, 2013)--In a continuation of a game that was suspended earlier in the season, the Madison Mallards and Lakeshore Chinooks finished off the longest game in the history of the Northwoods League.
Waterloo Offense Erupts; Streak Remains Intact
Rochester, Minn (July 11th, 2013)--Thursday night was all about the Waterloo Bucks, who scored 20 runs in a route of Willmar to keep their second half perfect. Also on Thursday, several other first half competitors had great nights.
