Last week Cardinals first baseman Matt Adams hit the DL with a tear in his abdomen. To fill Adams spot, the Cardinals purchased the contract of infielder Jermaine Curtis from Memphis. Curtis was not on the 40-man roster, but the Cardinals had an opening for him which made the decision easier.
