Eau Claire Express field manager Dale Varsho announced the addition of three pitchers to his 2009 roster. UC Davis freshmen Tyler Bremer and Scotty Walker will join the team along with Des Moines Area Community College sophomore Cole Nelson. The Express roster now stands at 14.

The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced the signing of Tony Thompson, a 6’5” 225-pound sophomore infielder from the University of Kansas.

The Waterloo Bucks announced the signing of Northern Illinois University freshman Troy White. The 6'0", 190-pound infielder becomes the ninth Buck added to the 2009 roster.

Former decorated Oklahoma high school two-sport athlete Mark Ginther has signed with the Madison Mallards for the 2009 season, giving the team flexibility in finding a cohesive left side of the infield. Ginther, who is being used extensively as a shortstop and third-baseman during his freshman year at Oklahoma State this spring, is a graduate of Jenks High School in Tulsa, OK where he helped lead the school to back-to-back state football championships as a quarterback his junior and senior campaigns. He wasn’t too shabby on the baseball diamond either, hitting .430 with eight home runs and 50 RBI his senior year. He also posted a 9-1 record and 0.99 ERA with 88 strikeouts in 56.2 innings on the mound. Ginther was drafted in the 48th round of the 2008 MLB Draft by the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced the signing of Nick Ramirez, a 6’3”, 225 pound infielder and left handed pitcher from Cal State Fullerton. The Titans are currently 18-4 and are ranked 1st in the nation by Baseball America.

The Madison Mallards newest roster addition, St. John’s junior outfielder Jimmy Parque, comes to Madison with hopes of trying to differentiate himself from two other rather athletic and successful people named “Jim” in his family. The first “Jim,” his father, was a member of the last Terra Nova Central Coast (CA) baseball championship team in 1980 and was named the team’s MVP. The other “Jim,” his second-cousin, pitched for the Chicago White Sox and Tampa Bay Devil Rays from 1998 to 2003 after being selected in the first round of the 1997 supplemental draft from UCLA. The former Bruin enjoyed his best season in the big leagues in 2000, posting a 12-6 record before a torn labrum ended his year.

The La Crosse Loggers continued their roster-building process with a pair of signings from a familiar friend in the San Diego State University program. RHP Addison Reed and OF/IF Brandon Meredith will be joining the Lumbermen for the 2009 campaign.

The Wisconsin Woodchucks have strengthened their middle infield with the recent signings of infielders Joey Hainsfurther and Kale Kiser. Hainsfurther and Kiser are true freshmen at Baylor University and the University of Nebraska, respectively.

Eau Claire Express field manager Dale Varsho announced three more commitments for his 2009 roster. Iowa Central outfielder Erik Knutson returns from last year and is joined outfielder Bobby Rinard and pitcher Ian Campbell, both from Yavapai. The three sophomores bring the Express roster to 11.

The Waterloo Bucks announced the signing of Stanford freshman Christian Griffiths. The 6'2", 180-pound switch-hitting catcher will join the Bucks for the 2009 season.
